Death certificate: a key document in the funeral process
The death certificate is an essential document for initiating any type of action following the death of a loved one. This document validates a death, which in turn allows administrative and legal procedures to begin. Knowing how to obtain it is the first step in the funeral process, as it marks the beginning of the necessary steps to resolving the legal, financial and personal aspects of the deceased.
Eco-funerals: honouring the deceased in a sustainable way
As a society, we are becoming ever more aware of the need to care for the environment, a concern that is felt in all aspects of our daily lives, including the funeral sector. In this context, many families choose to say goodbye to their loved ones with an eco-funeral. It is a way of honouring their memory without putting the health of our planet at risk.
How to make a funeral as inexpensive as possible
Searching for cheaper alternatives when it comes to saying goodbye to our loved ones is becoming increasingly common. There is a growing awareness of the importance of simple and sustainable funerals, as well as the fact that they represent a significant saving for families. Today, Stelae will take a closer look at this new development and tell you how to organise a funeral that is cheaper than more traditional ones.
How much does the transfer of the ashes cost?
The price of the transfer of ashes depends on the type of transport and the destination, as well as on the necessary formalities to be carried out in order to obtain the relevant permits for the transfer of the ashes.
At Stelae, we offer this additional service when contracting the direct cremation service, which costs from 1,475 euros, depending on the option chosen.
What should I do if I want to take the ashes abroad?
For the transfer of ashes abroad, as for the transport from another country to Spain, it is necessary to have various documents:
Is it necessary to use a special urn to transport the ashes?
Urns made of metal or those containing metal embellishments are not permitted when transferring ashes by air. Additionally, due to their limited strength, urns made of biodegradable materials with little durability are not recommended, as they may be damaged during transport.
And on a bus?
Ashes can be transported by bus. In Spain it is possible to travel with ashes by any means of transport, as long as they are in a suitable container and you have the necessary documentation (death certificate and cremation certificate).
Can I travel with the ashes on a train?
It is possible to transfer ashes by train, but the urn must be properly identified. You must also have the death certificate and cremation certificate in case they are requested by the company that operates the route.
Can I travel with the ashes on a plane?
Yes, there are no regulations that prevent the transfer of ashes by plane, although it is important to know the policies of each airline, as well as the legislation of the destination country.
